French Film Festival (3rd-7th may)

The Sunshine Coast French Film Festival is a week-end long cultural event scheduled for May 3 - May 7 
organised by the Alliance Française de la Sunshine Coast.

This year the Festival will screen a total of seven screenings in 3 locations: Noosa, Nambour and Caloundra.

All films will have English subtitles.

When you click on buttons below to book the films at Noosa 5 on Saturday 5 May or at Nambour Majestic on Sunday 6 May you will be connected to the website of those cinemas.  So if you have any difficulties with such bookings, please contact the cinema.  You can also book at their box offices, which avoids the online booking charge.

Comedy -  A widow discovers that her husband sent an innocent man to jail to cover-up his own crime.

Our Opening night Soiree at the Black pepper will be a great night with lovely food and red or white French wine. 

Many raffles will be drawn on the day with many prizes to be won.

Drama -  Set amidst the bohemian intelligentsia of the Parisian publishing world, NON-FICTION traces the romantic and emotional fallout that results when a controversial writer begins blurring the line between fact and fiction, using his real-life love affairs—including a passionate fling with an actress who happens to be married to his editor

Inspirational - A must see!


Drama- Lara is a 15-year-old girl, born in the body of a boy, who dreams of becoming a ballerina. Supported by her francophone father, she commences her journey into gender reassignment, yet her teenage impatience and the immense pressures of ballet push Lara to the brink.

This début-film - by a very young Director - screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Caméra d'Or award, for best first feature film.

Animation - As a result of a fall during the collection of the mistletoe, the druid Panoramix decides it is time to ensure the future of the village. Accompanied by Asterix and Obelix, he undertakes to browse the World Gauls in search of a young talented druid to which transmit the secret of the magic potion.

Comedy -  A group of 40-something guys, all on the verge of a mid-life crisis, decide to form their local pool's first every synchronized swimming team - for men. Braving the skepticism and ridicule of those around them, and trained by a fallen champion trying to pull herself together, the group set out on an unlikely adventure, and on the way will rediscover a little self-esteem and a lot about themselves and each other.
