A1 BEGINNER

Level "A1 Beginner" includes: 
  • Beginner Discovery Class - No prior knowledge of French is required for this course. This course is for Absolute Beginners.
  • Beginners Class 2/3 - For students having completed 1 or 2 terms of French (if you were in Verity's or Eva's Beginners class last semester, this is your level)

A2 ELEMENTARY

Level "A2 Elementary" Objectives:
  • Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of immediate relevance (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment
  • Can ask precise questions, express admiration
  • Can ask questions to find one's way, explain and talk about an itinerary.
  • Can communicate in routine tasks requiring a direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
  • Can describe aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

B1 INTERMEDIATE

Level "B1 Intermediate" Objectives:
  • Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
  • Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
  • Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.
  • Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

B2 ADVANCED

Level "B2 Advanced" Objectives:
  • Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation.
  • Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
  • Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

The Alliance Française de la Sunshine Coast is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting French language, culture, literature and history on the Sunshine Coast of Australia and to encourage French-Australian cultural exchange and friendship.

The Alliance Française de la Sunshine Coast provides the opportunity for friends of French language and culture to come together in a very welcoming, non-political and non-religious environment.

The AFSC committee is composed of enthusiastic local Francophiles happy to bring their skills and experience to offer a range of services and events to the Sunshine Coast community.

We also encourage volunteers to join us in order to help out at events.
